June 9, 2026 – A new Pollara survey finds four-in-ten (40%) Canadians are likely to watch matches in the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup, with excitement higher in the host cities of Toronto and Vancouver, and among immigrants.
Nearly everyone planning to watch (92%) is cheering for Canada at least in part, but only 27% are cheering exclusively for Canada. Other countries with the largest fan bases are:

- Brazil 14%
- France 10%
- Portugal 10%
- Argentina 10%
- Germany 9%
- Spain 7%
- Mexico 6%
- United States 5%
- Australia 5%
