October 14, 2025 – A new Pollara Strategic Insights survey for the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité Canada (RDÉE) finds that, amid rising costs and trade uncertainty, Canada’s minority francophone communities are calling for renewed focus on their economic and linguistic vitality.
From August 5 to August 10, 2025, Pollara surveyed N=517 francophones living in minority situations across Canada. The survey reveals that nine in ten Canadians who are members of francophone minority linguistic communities view francophone businesses as essential to preserving their language and identity and want increased government support for these businesses – underscoring that strengthening Canada’s francophone economy nationwide is both a cultural and economic priority.
