April 22, 2026 – A new Pollara survey finds 56% of Canadians heard about Pierre Poilievre’s appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, including 11% who say they listened to the full interview. Among those who heard the podcast, twice as many say it improved (33%) rather than worsened (16%) how they feel about Poilievre.
Our report also provides a first look at how Canadians are feeling about new NDP leader Avi Lewis, and the reaction to his speech at the leadership convention. Close to half (45%) of Canadians heard something about Lewis’ convention speech, but the impact was limited, with only slightly more people saying this improved (27%) rather than worsened (23%) how they feel about him.
Our full report [INSERT LINK] compares these two case studies with Prime Minister Carney’s speech at Davos earlier this year, to analyze where Canadians of different demographic backgrounds hear about political news.
